1953 MERCEDES-BENZ (W136 VI) 170 VB
- An elegant post-war classic in rare right-hand-drive specification, which has been treated to an extensive restoration and more recent recommissioning.
- Under the bonnet is a 1.8-litre (1767cc) M136 inline-four petrol engine, producing up to 45hp, driving the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
- It is believed to have been imported to Germany in the early 1970s by a British Army officer based at the Osnabrück Garrison in northern Germany. The car was de-registered from the military system and its first German owner acquired it in 1976.
- The car was subsequently acquired by a fastidious Mercedes-Benz collector in 1983, who has owned it ever since, and was put through an exhaustive restoration process during their ownership.
- This 170 VB currently has German papers but has been de-registered.
